Police warning over flasher in Sankey Valley Park
POLICE have issued a warning after a spate of incidents in which women have been flashed in Sankey Valley Park.
The latest indecent exposure happened on Saturday at around 11.30am.
A 53-year-old woman was driving along Sankey Way next to the park when she saw a man stood near bushes exposing himself.
He is described as white, aged around 30, of medium build with black hair. He wore cream coloured trousers and a bright blue jacket.
Two incidents also happened in Sankey Valley Park last week.
On Thursday, March 14, a 45-year-old woman was walking close to the band stand when a man exposed himself to her.
He is described as white, aged around 30, 5ft 10ins tall and of slim build. He also had a beard.
And on Sunday, March 10, a 16-year-old girl was targeted.
She was walking next to the spider’s web play equipment in the park when a man flashed her.
The teenager was left shaken and ran home to call police.
The man is described as white, aged around 20, and wore dark coloured jeans and a white hooded top, with red stripes running down the front.
Officers are currently investigating if the incidents are linked and urge people to be vigilant in the park.
Insp Rob Dickinson, of Warrington West NPU, said: “We want people to be aware of these incidents and not put themselves in any position of unnecessary harm.
“We have stepped up our patrols in the area to actively target those responsible and to reassure the local community.
“Officers are carrying out a number of enquiries and we would urge anyone with any information in relation to the incident to get in touch.
“We are advising members of the public to be vigilant when walking alone in the area and to stick to well-lit areas and report any suspicious activity immediately.”
Anyone with information can call police on 101.
