Town turns red for Comic Relief

WARRINGTON’S colours may firmly be primrose and blue but for one day only the town turned red for Comic Relief.

Thousands got into the spirit of things with fancy dress, bake off competitions and sales and even the Wolves squad got in on the act to support the charity on Red Nose Day on Friday.

They were on hand to see their backroom staff take on a team of supporters of the Warrington Wolves Charitable Foundation.

And Wolves fans also got in on the act by getting on their bikes to travel from The Halliwell Jones Stadium to the City of Salford Stadium by pedal power in fancy dress.

Children at Stretton St Matthew’s CE Primary School put their best foot backward by walking backwards to school on Friday morning to raise money for the international charity.

And staff at official Comic Relief partner Sainsbury’s in the town centre came to work dressed as a variety of characters including a ladybird and put themselves up to be pelted in the stocks for a good cause.
