Help raise money for charity with odd socks

YOU are urged to don odd socks to help raise money for a Cheshire based charity.

Cheshire Down’s Syndrome Support Group is encouraging businesses and schools to get involved in the Odd Socks for their Dosh for Down’s day next Thursday, March 21.

This date is chosen every year as it represents the three copies of chromosome 21 which is unique to people with Down’s Syndrome Amanda Glennon, a Whitley mum whose daughter Alice has Down’s Syndrome, has helped organise events in the borough.

She said: “This year we have had fantastic support from local businesses. Park Royal Hotel are hosting a swim-a-thon, they are asking their members to swim a few lengths of the pool, we are hoping that we can encourage people to swim 21 miles three times 21/3.

“Swimming in Odd Socks is optional.”
