TRANSPORT chiefs will find out later this month if a bid for funding for a new Chapelford station has been successful.
As reported in the Warrington Guardian last month, council chiefs are hoping to win funding to help build the Warrington West station.
This week the Government has confirmed 14 bids have been received for a part of £20million from Kenilworth in Warwickshire to Haxby near York.
An announcement is now likely before the end of the month.
Applications are currently being assessed by a cross-industry panel, including representatives from Network Rail and the Department for Transport.

If Network Rail had intended to maintain Sankey, they would not have sold off the old station yard to a property developer, they would have built a car park on the land and they would have carried out improvements such as live train information boards and improved waiting facilities!!
