THERE will be another headache for motorists as work to resurface Rylands Steet, Suez Street and a section of Cairo Street in the Cultural Quarter has started.

The road and footpaths will both be renewed in the same manner as nearby Museum and Bold Street and is expected to take until the end of May.

Work will be carried out between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday and diversions will be in place.

The council has said pedestrian access will be maintained as far as possible and bus services will be affected but equipment will be cleared away before the 20th anniversary bombing civic event on Saturday.

Any plans for Padgate Lane, it's an absolute joke, even more so when they were doing Manchester Road last week, and that's nowhere near as dangerous as Padgate Lane is at the moment, need to get their priorities right.

A huge number of years overdue, I've lost count of the number of times I've been on the buses that rattle while going around those streets.

I agree with "Potholes & litter" that Froghall Lane plus Tanners Lane are terrible, and being simply patched up rather than fully renewed has made it worse. The roads around there should have been fully renewed when The Halliwell Jones was being built.

"THE CULTURAL QUARTER?"

The BBC broadcaster. Stuart Maconie, visited Warrington a few years ago whilst researching for a book he was writing.

He commented that all he could find of Warrington,s Cultural Quarter, was the sign outside Bank Quay Station that pointed to it!!
