A HELPLINE has been set up to support residents during the 20th anniversary of the IRA bombing.

Mental Health Matters will be operating the 24 hour, seven days a week phoneline between Monday and March 25 for anyone feeling anxious, low or stressed and feel like talking to another person to cope.

Calls to the experienced support workers are confidential and will provide support, guidance and information about local services.

Clr Mike Hannon, deputy leader of the council, said: "Marking this important anniversary will be an emotional experience for so many of us and as we continue to support each other and stay united as a town, as we have done over the past 20 years, it is important to the council that people have access to the right support."

The helpline number is 0800 0851720.
