MORE than 1,100 children sponge painted, made candles and personalised piggy banks as part of Golden Square’s creative campaign during half term.

The shopping centre held free activities every day as part of an initiative set up in response to Government funding cuts to arts programmes in the area.

Ian Cox, general manager of Golden Square Shopping Centre, said he was delighted with the turn out.
