NEW equipment is needed to for a community hairdressers which is opening in Warrington town centre.

Based in the former Lloyds TSB in Time Square, Warrington Youth Club@ The Bank is providing young people with employability skills to give them a chance to start and run their own business.

Ideas already suggested include hair and beauty services, a shop selling shabby chic and vintage goods, an inspirational speaker, a gym, dance and martial arts classes.

Sarah Blinkhorn, Warrington Youth Club’s champion for the hair salon, said: “This is a perfect opportunity for young people leaving (or who have left) college to gain confidence and experience working in an actual salon, whilst giving them the opportunity to establish themselves as self-employed hairstylists.

“Though in order to open our doors we do desperately need additional furniture and equipment to be able to make it a success and would welcome any support from companies in the area who may be able to assist.”

Companies such as Crown Decorating Centre, United Utilities, Rock Oil, CEL, Heroes and the Royal British Legion have already helped. More support is required and if you can help (especially with any specialist hairdressing equipment) call Sarah on 07557 041858.

For general enquiries call Jayne Horton on 07415 230600.
