Army careers office closes

IT is the end of an era today, Thursday, as the Army careers information office in the town closes.
Bosses have said the Army has seen an increasing number of enquiries from computers and mobile phones and is moving its recruitment efforts from Winmarleigh Street to online.
Offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Chester will remain open.
