MET Police in London say a diabetic pensioner who has been missing for nearly six months may be in Warrington.

Officers are now extending the search for Michael Turner, aged 70, to the town.

He has been missing from his home in Highfield Road, Sutton, South London, since the beginning of September 2012.

Neighbours and family have not heard from him and say he has not gone missing before.

Police are now increasingly concerned for his welfare.

Mr Turner has been sent post from a woman called May which had a Warrington postmark.

Police say he last picked up medicine for diabetes last September from a pharmacy in Sutton.

The elderly man was scheduled to have a dentist appointment in Sutton in January but failed to turn up.

PC Vince Green, of the missing persons unit at Sutton Police Station, said: “Usual checks by police have been unable to shed any light on Mr Turner’s current whereabouts.

“He may have access to money but his mobile phone is turned off and he doesn’t have a vehicle.”

Anyone with information can call Sutton Police Station on 101.
