Padgate fitness fanatic tackles nine gruelling challenges for Warrington Hospital

A FITNESS fanatic will be hoping to beat the feline figure of nine lives as he takes on nine challenges to raise money for a new machine for Warrington Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Dean Frampton starts his first challenge in a nine-month time frame next month when he takes on the Witches Revenge 10k assault course.

The 31-year-old from Padgate said: “I lost my mum Mimy in November after she was treated in intensive care for a week. She was loved by a lot of people “Even during her last moments they were trying lots of different things to save her.”

Mimy suffered multiple organ failure aged 60 and despite the best efforts of doctors and nurses she did not pull through.

While in the hospital the family noticed they were asking for help to raise £30,000 for a new ventilation unit for the department and Dean and his family decided to do something in Mimy’s memory.

They are planning a music night to coincide with the family’s love of music.

“I was thinking I do enjoy my exercise so I’d do an event like the Great Manchester Run but I thought it wouldn’t raise much money,” added Dean. “So I thought instead of doing one I’d do nine.”

And on many of his adventures Dean, a sales executive, will not be on his own and he will be roping in up to 11 friends and family for a coastal bike ride.

The training has been going well so far for Dean who hopes to raise £2,000 towards the £30,000 fund.
