THE Warburton Bridge will be closed for four days from Friday morning.

The toll bridge, which spans the Manchester Ship Canal from Lymm through to Rixton, is set to close at 9.30am and reopen on Monday at 6pm.

Motorists are advised to use alternative crossings at the Thelwall High Level Bridge (M6) or the Knutsford Road Swing bridge, or the Barton High Level Bridge (M60) or Barton Swingbridge, Redclyffe Road, Urmston to the east of the toll bridge.

Traffic has been restricted since the bridge structure was struck by an HGV in November.
