HERO Andy Reid visited Warrington on Saturday to sign copies of his inspirational autobiography.

Former soldier Andy, a triple amputee after surviving an IED blast in Afghanistan more than three years ago, visited Asda as part of a tour promoting the book.

He hopes it will help and inspire others around the world who have lost limbs or suffered devastating injuries.

Andy, who is enjoying fatherhood after the birth of his first son William and is from St Helens, also believes it offers an insight into how his early life shaped his indomitable character.

Good to see the word "hero" used properly - not attached to someone who just kicks a ball around a pitch.
