A WOMAN dedicated to her family has celebrated her 101st birthday.
May Laybourne, who lives at The Old Rectory Nursing Home in Grappenhall, turned 101 on February 15 and celebrated with a party with family, friends and residents.
A former Golborne houswife, her oldest memory is seeing the Hindenburg pass from her home in Golborne on its way to Liverpool.
She says the secret to her long life is good living, good food and a caring husband of 56 years.
She is devoted to her family and loves their company and has two daughters, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Her birthday party was graced by entertainer Tony Gibbons.
May said: “My cake was too nice to slice, it was amazing!”
