Spoof pictures lampoon councillors

A WHITTLE Hall councillor has been lampooned by Chapelford residents after the launch of a Facebook site reporting news in the area.

Clrs Will Hughes and Faisal Rashid created the Whittle Hall Ward Rose page on the social media site and posted pictures of themselves posing next to concerns raised in the area and problems fixed.

But it was not long before a cheeky Chapelford resident used some photoshop wizardry to make the councillors look like they were popping up in a number of locations ‘Where’s Wally’-style.

The doctored photos were posted on the Chapelford Urban Village Facebook page with members soon dubbing the images ‘Whittle Hall’s Where’s Will’ or ‘Find Faisal’.

Comments on the photos included: “This has just absolutely made my night!”, “This is quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever seen on this page!! Nice work” and “Wondered how long it would take for a picture of that on here.”

The original Facebook page included pictures of stern-faced pair Clr Hughes and Rashid pointing out missing bollards on roundabouts, rubbish dumped in the area, damaged road signs and overseeing the progress of a basketball court on Dakota Park.

Clr Hughes said he could see the funny side of the ‘Where’s Will’ pictures.

He added: “They’re very funny and have certainly made me laugh.

“I’m wondering if the idea is still available for copyright.”

Clr Faisal Rashid said: "It makes me laugh and I feel our residents do interact with a great sense of humour.

“I must say there was a photo few months back when we were campaigning for broadband and that was hilarious too."

Laughing with me or laughing at me.... methinks they are laughing at you and your antics. Get real when did social media actually do any good. It usually catches the not so savvy (councillors) out. Watch you don't get sacked by a text message!
