A TOWN centre train station is set to get back on the right tracks with a £600,000 facellift.

The revamp at Warrington Bank Quay station, managed by Virgin Trains, will include new toilets and a cleaner, brighter subway as part of the National Stations Improvement Programme.

Work starts on Monday and is expected to last around five months with completion scheduled for July 2013.

Keith Millard, Virgin Trains’ station manager, said: “We’re committed to making our stations a better place for our customers.

“Warrington Bank Quay station will remain open as normal while the works are carried out.

“Customers will continue to have access to platforms and toilets at all times and we ask them to bear with us while we make the improvements.”

The full list of benefits at the busy station on the west coast main line include a ‘cleaner, brighter and more welcoming’ main subway and staircases up to every platform with new lighting and CCTV and a new disabled toilet and refurbished toilets for platforms three/four.

I hope they are going to reinstate the toilets on platforms 1 & 2,
Its no joke for the disabled having use the lifts 4 times to use the toilets on 3 & 4 and get back to 1 & 2..
