Irish champs bring their dancing feet to Culceth

COMPETITORS from across the UK, Ireland and Europe converged on Culcheth on Saturday for an international Irish Dancing Championships.

The first Irish Dancing Feis was held at LiveWire’s Culcheth Community Campus, by Rogers Irish Dancing Academy.

It saw more than 600 competitors aged between four and 24, from as far as Germany compete. Kieran Rogers, founder of Rogers Academy of Irish Dancing, the only dance school of its kind in the Warrington, said: “The standard of dancing and volume of participants today has been incredible.”

All participants received a medal for taking part and winners were presented with Silver plaques, bouquets and sashes. The highly anticipated event was sponsored by John Kennedy a highly respected figure in the UK and Ireland and sourced adjudicators from Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and France.
