A BODY found in the Manchester Ship Canal on Friday has been confirmed as that of missing Padgate teenager Nathan Taylor.

Police found the body around 5pm at Latchford Locks and have confirmed this afternoon it is that of the 18-year-old.

He had been missing since leaving a party at Bridge Bar in Latchford last Saturday night.

Officers say there are no suspicious circumstances and the coroner has now been informed.

A spokesman said:"The thoughts of Cheshire Police and the communities of Warrington are very much with Nathan′s family during this difficult time.

"Cheshire Police would like to thank all members of the public who came forward with information and offers for help while the search for Nathan was ongoing."

Meanwhile members of the public have been leaving at flowers at the site where his body was found at Latchford Locks.

I didnt know Nathan personally but he has become a big part of my life these past 6 days, ive helped search for him, distributed leaflets & posters & spoken to some of his family & friends, i am utterly devastated for all who knew & loved him! Everyone said what an amazing polite young man he is, he's definatly gonna be leaving ALOT of broken hearts behind! The whole of Warrington came together as a community, we all hoped & wished that Nathan would be found safe & well, unfortunatly this wasnt to be and he is now in the arms of the angels.. My heart goes out to all that knew this beautiful boy and hope that in time your hearts can begin to heal, thinking of you all at this devastating time lots of love Kirsty Heald & Family xx

not trying to take any attention from this poor young man and his family they have my deepest condolences but a young woman has gone missing again in Warrington from penketh she is called Sophie North. this is getting far to common i hope the police are noticing this as well
