Padgate teen Nathan Taylor's parents speak of their heartbreak

Nathan Taylor, missing since Saturday Nathan Taylor, missing since Saturday

THE family of missing teenager Nathan Taylor have told of how they are going through ‘their worst nightmare’.

Parents Amanda and Chris, and sister Olivia, met with the Warrington Guardian on Tuesday to appeal for help in finding the 18-year-old.

Mrs Taylor said: “It has been like our worst nightmare, I’m not keeping too well, it’s gut wrenching.

“Nathan is a picture son and he does so much for me. He would never get into trouble.

“We are devastated and just want him to come home.”

Mr Taylor said: “It’s like ‘when are you going to wake up from this dream?’.

“As the days go on and we don’t hear anything, it just gets worse.”

The family had all been to 40th birthday party at the Bridge Bar in Latchford on Saturday night.

Mrs Taylor said: “Everything’s going through your mind, like what if we had not gone there in the first place.

“There are so many ups and downs but we just want him back.”

The gym fanatic, who loves to play computer game Fifa, was last seen leaving the party at 11.30pm by sister Olivia, although a jogger has since claimed to have seen him next to allotments off Kingsway around that time.

The Warrington Collegiate media student told her he was walking back to the family home on Connaught Avenue in Padgate.

She said: “He was in a really happy mood.

“I’m just staying positive and hope he will walk through the door.

Mr Taylor fears his son was attacked and said: “We are conscious he might have met somebody, a group of lads who have tried to take his phone.

“He’d never go missing because he’d miss his bed and computer games too much.

“He was texting a girl and was very happy, with everything to look forward to.”

“We think there is still hope but that is going down because we’ve not heard anything.

“We are preparing ourselves for the worst.”

Nathan has now been missing for five days.

Specialist officers and trained units are searching the Latchford area, with the River Mersey also searched by boat.

CCTV footage has also been released of him walking home.

Superintendent Martin Cleworth said "We are extremely concerned for Nathan′s welfare, especially given the exceptionally bad weather conditions we experienced last weekend.

“We have a significant amount of resources committed in the search for Nathan, and understand that this is completely out of character for him to not be in touch with his family or friends.

“We urge anyone who may have knowledge of his current whereabouts, to contact Cheshire Police as a matter of urgency".

Residents have been helping police by handing out leaflets, although they were not allowed to take part in the search.

A ‘find Nathan Luke Taylor’ Facebook page has been set up, with 3,021 ‘likes’ so far, while on Twitter further appeals are being made using the hash tag #findNathan.

When last seen the film fan was wearing a long-sleeved grey sweatshirt with a distinctive emblem of two tigers on the front and black, skinny jeans.

He is white, 5ft 7ins tall, of slim build, clean shaved, with brown eyes and short hair and a fringe to one side.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident 295 of January 27.
