A COURSE run by Warrington Collegiate aimed at giving contact centre skills has been declared a success.

All the students taking the BTEC Level two course have passed and have also been offered work with Golden Gates Housing Trust and General Insurance Distribution Ltd or gone on to further study and support with Golden Gates Direct.

Collegiate tutor and course leader, Mel Cooke said: “All these students were returning to learn, having either been out of work for some time or not been able to find employment after fulltime education.

“They faced a real challenge as being out of work, even for a short time can be really demoralising and damaging to your confidence.”

The students trained in a simulated work environment covering all aspects of call centre work from telephone banking to telesales.

Mel added: “This is a fantastic result for the students. I remember them as very quiet to start, but as the course progressed and they developed new skills they have grown in confidence and self-belief.”
