FUNDRAISERS are continuing to make a difference at Warrington Hospital after donations have bought a portable bladder scanner.

The machine, worth £7,200, was bought by voluntary organistation The League of Friends and will help staff decide if a catheter is needed.

Julie Will, ward manager on the acute medical unit, thanked the group who raise cash through weekly lottery ticket sales, for their generosity.

She said: “This will make it easier for us to check patients for urine retention, rather than having to borrow one from another ward or arrange an ultrasound.

“It means the patient is treated rapidly to ease what can be very distressing symptoms.”
