CHESHIRE Police is supporting a campaign warning residents to be vigilant against terrorism.

It is backing the push by the North West Counter Terrorism Unit to raise awareness over threats.

Chf Insp Dave Blood, of Cheshire Police’s counter terrorism branch, said: “The threat from international terrorism is very real and has in no way dissipated.

"Members of the public remain key to dealing with the threat of terrorism.

“Residents have the best knowledge of their communities and are more likely to notice any suspicious behaviour.

“Therefore, we are asking people to continue to be vigilant and to make a note of the anti-terrorist hotline number so they can report anything they think may be suspicious in their community.”

Call the hotline on 0800 789 321 or visit cheshirepolice.uk for more information.
