SOME of the £30,000 worth of specialist equipment used by paralympic fencer Adrian Derbyshire stolen on Saturday has been recovered.

Officers on patrol last night discovered a bag containing some of the specialist fencing gear at a car park in Lilford Avenue at around 8pm.

It has not been confirmed whether all the stolen items have been recovered but once they have been checked for forensic evidence they will be returned to the 38-year-old.

Adrian appealed to the community after the theft took place on Saturday morning to help him track down the custom made kit.

He said it could end his career if the equipment was not found after being taken from his Leicester Street home.

Anyone with information about any of the remainder of the equipment should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.

  • Two men - 33-year-old Gareth Blinston, of Gregory Close, Old Hall and 34-year-old Anthony Lee Cottam, of Malpas Drive, Great Sankey – have been remanded in custody to face burglary charges at Warrington Crown Court on Monday.

I hope Adrian gets all his stuff back, and he gets a new home and a good lock up,

His appeal to the community has netted a good result, perhaps the thief has had second thoughts, and left them to be found and returned to their paralympic owner.

Hope Adrian can have all his equipment returned in full and can put it to good use and chop the thieves hands off
