GET out in the garden and take note of the birds who pay your home a visit for a national survey.

Warrington Nature Conservation Forum (WNCF) is encouraging people to get involved in the annual RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend.

The birdwatch, in its 30th year, allows the RSPB to monitor trends and helps them understand how birds are doing and as a consequence wildlife in general.

WNCF secretary Helen Lacy said: “It’s a great way to start watching birds and you can do it from your window at home or your local park. By simply clicking on the RSPB web site rspb.org.uk/birdwatch/ you will find all the information you need - bird charts, what they like to eat, how to make your garden bird friendly and more.

The WNCF would like to read about your Big Garden Birdwatch experience and ask you to post your results on their Facebook page. They will publish the best comments and photos in their spring newsletter.
