Decision over Three Elms dementia unit in Penketh delayed

A DECISION over plans for a major dementia care unit in Penketh has been delayed.

The Warrington Guardian reported earlier this month an application for a specialist home on Station Road could be approved if wrangles over parking problems are resolved.

The matter was set to be discussed during a development management committee meeting last night but did not make it on to the agenda as additional information has not yet been received by the council.

If approved, the existing care home at Three Elms will be developed by applicant Abbotsford Care Ltd but neighbours expressed fears this would cause traffic and parking problems.

A council spokesman said: “The application has been deferred after the committee heard the results of a site visit at the last meeting.

“The development agent was asked to provide additional information about their car parking plans but this has not yet been received.”

if applicant is to unprofessional to provide requested information why prolong the process at further cost to taxpayers ?

I agree, certainly with regard to not prolonging it any longer. Additionally Warrington Borough Council should pass it for development and save the Community Charge / Tax and Business Charge / Tax payers unnecessary further costs. A fait accompli, I'd say!
