Man robbed in Howley

POLICE are appealing for information after a 64-year-old man was robbed in Howley.

The victim was approached from behind by two men on St Peter’s Way and punched in the back of the head.

One man then searched his pockets and stole cash and a mobile phone.

Both men then ran towards Battersby Lane.

The incident took place at around 8.30pm on Monday, January 7.

Police say the first man is described as white, between 5ft 7ins and 5′8" tall, in his early 20s, and of stocky build.

He had short dark hair, a closely shaved beard and wore a light grey waterproof jacket and dark coloured jeans.

The second man is described as white and taller than the first man.

Anyone can call police on 101 quoting incident number 311 of January 20.
