Gritters have been out again this morning following the snowfall overnight say Warrington Borough Council.
The council had a snow forecast for yesterday lunch time and all main and secondary routes were treated yesterday and footways around schools were also treated.
Gritting and clearing is now ongoing at high use areas and around schools as well as roads due for bin collections tomorrow.
Careful driving is recommended in rural areas across the town, particularly in hilly places which are untreated.
A spokesman added: "We are continuing to monitor local conditions with help of our front line inspectors and street services crews and the forecast is also being monitored. Snow is expected to stop later this morning."
11:51am
Interim council chief executive says gritters were out and about on Sunday before the snow started and are back on duty today.
"It is not easy but the council is working hard to keep the town moving", he said.

WARRINGTON Hospital has said things are 'business as usual today' after no significant problems in A&E over the weekend.
Advice to patients who are worried about travelling is to be safe and let the hospital know if you can not attend an outpatient appointment or procedure by calling the number on your appointment letter.
A spokesman said: "We’ll be able to rearrange your appointment easily for you. "If you are coming to the hospitals, our estates team are making sure that our roads and paths are as clear as possible but do please take extra care on site - especially on the car parks and when entering the buildings."
