Telephone cable problem fixed - after more than a month

ALMOST 100 residents in Lymm were without phone lines and internet connection for almost a month.

The problem, for 83 homes in and around Rushgreen Road, started on December 21 after faults on underground cables.

And it was finally repaired on Tuesday after engineers from Openreach found ‘blockages’ that needed to be cleared.

A spokesman said temporary traffic lights were needed to carry out the works, which were finally completed earlier this week.

She added: “Openreach – who look after the local network on behalf of all service providers – apologises for the delay in restoring services due to a combination of technical and other challenges.”

Anyone still encountering any difficulties should contact their communications service provider.
