Latchford cannabis raid man appears in court

A 47-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court after a raid in Latchford that saw around 140 cannabis plants recovered.

Man Yung Chan, of Priory Street, did not enter a plea at Halton Magistrates Court today, Monday.

He is charged with possession of a class B drug.

The defendant was remanded in custody and will next appear back at Halton Magistrates Court on Monday, January 21.

He was arrested on Wednesday after police served a warrant at a flat above the Jack and Daniels Chinese takeaway on Priory Street.

Officers say they had been given a tip-off that cannabis was being grown there.
