A MOTORCYCLIST has died following a collision in Thelwall Lane, Latchford on Friday night.
Police were called around 8am on Saturday to reports of a collision on a service road near to the Manchester Ship Canal on Thelwall Lane.
They say the accident is believed to have happened at sometime during the night.
The motorcyclist had suffered fatal injuries.
It is understood his body was found on a canal towpath, close to the Novelis recycling plant.
The dead man has been named locally as Andy Wilde, aged 22.
Police are currently investigating if anyone else was involved in the incident.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident 191 of January 12.
