Golden Square shopping centre evacuated

AN evacuation at Golden Square shopping centre this morning was a false alarm.

Shoppers and bus passengers were asked to leave the building just after 9am this morning.

Buses were also asked to leave the Bus Interchange.

A Golden Square spokesman said:"A retailer outlet at the Golden Square Shopping Centre triggered a false evacuation alarm at the centre this morning. “The matter was resolved within minutes and the centre is now fully operational."

Better to be safe than sorry and the odd rehearsal will show the value of evacuation procedures.
