A DOG owner has been summoned to court for animal cruelty in connection to an attack that left a family pet badly wounded.
The 30-year-old man handed himself into police on Saturday.
He was interviewed under caution and is now due to appear at Halton Magistrates Court although a date has yet to be confirmed.
The summons relate to an incident on Saturday, December 15, when police received reports a cat had been attacked by two dogs on Whitchurch Close in Padgate.
Four-year-old Fluff was taken to Beech House Veterinary Centre on Wilderspool Causeway where he was treated for a broken jaw, dislocated leg and bite wounds.
A man with two dogs was seen in the area at the time.
Officers from Warrington East Neighbourhood Unit searched the area but he could not be traced.
