STANDARDS have fallen at a Croft primary school that has been ordered to improve by Ofsted.
Under the new guidelines St Lewis Catholic Primary School on Mustard Lane achieved a score of three - or requires improvement - in its latest inspection.
It would have been marked as satisfactory under the old system.
However, it was rated as good during its previous spot check in 2008.
The results were published on Tuesday.
Head teacher Michael Boland said: “We are pleased that the report pulls out some real positives and highlights and that it confirms that the priorities we identified with the local authority for improvement are consistent.
“We are improving the learning experience all the time and will continue to do so.”
Ofsted said teaching in some lessons is not good enough, while activities do not suit all pupils and the marking of work is not consistent.
Strenghts included good levels of behaviour and safety, standards of reading are good and Mr Boland is aware of what needs to be improved.
