Hit and run victim spends Christmas in hospital

A HIT and run victim knocked down in Orford spent Christmas in hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The 42-year-old man has now been in hospital for more than two weeks after the incident on Monday, December 17.

Police say he suffered serious chest injuries after colliding with the car on Fisher Avenue at its junction with Long Lane at around 8.20pm.

His condition is improving.

The driver, in either a Ford Focus or Vauxhall Astra, failed to stop, according to officers. They are still appealing for witnesses.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident number 912 of December 17.

As usual our glorious WG has got the details of the incident wrong yet again. It was at the junction of Fisher Avenue and Statham Avenue not Long lane according to the police and I am more inclined to believe them. Mind you I suppose we should be pleased that they actually realised it happend in Warrington. That aside I hope whoever it was who was injured gets well soon and that these is no lasting damage.
