THE rain did stop in 2012 - but only occasionally!
During the festive period, we have been reminding you of some of the headlines that made the news this year in our 12 days of Christmas (and the new year!).
Running every day until January 2, we will feature the Olympics, Queen’s visits and rugby league glory.
This year was one of the wettest on records.
From a cancelled Creamfields, to summer floods, the town was often under water.
The worst hit in September when schools were forced to close and sand bags were out across Orford, Longford and Dallam.
The Royal Mail office in Dallam was left under water while Sankey Brook also burst its banks.
And the poor weather continued in December with flooding in Howley close to the Mersey.
