WARDS in Warrington Hospital’s Appleton wing have had their windows replaced as part of a £250,000 programme.

The new energy efficient windows on nine wards has led to a massive programme of temporary ward moves.

A new state-of-the-art patient call bell system is also being installed with work expected to be completed at the end of March.

Mel Pickup, chief executive of Warrington and Halton Hospitals said: “It’s the NHS equivalent of moving house nine times in a few months so is no easy task but both staff and patients are already commenting on the bright and airy feel that the new windows are creating.”
