TWO catholic high schools in the town have paid for life-saving equipment.
St Gregory's Catholic High School, Cromwell Avenue, and Cardinal Newman Catholic High, Bridgewater Avenue, both received defibrillators and the necessary training if a pupil suffers from a cardiac arrest.
First aid company Action Training Services and the Catholic Federation of High Schools in Warrington joined forces to provide the equipment.
Andrew Billington, from Action Training Services, said: “Twelve people under the age of 35 die every week due to sudden cardiac arrest in the UK.
“Early defibrillation can triple a victims chance of survival which is why it’s great to see schools getting focused on first aid and equipping staff.”
