UPDATED - Birchwood Way crash man was from town

A MAN who died after his car was involved in a collision with a lorry on Birchwood Way has been identified as a 40-year-old from Warrington.

Police have now informed his next of kin but have not released details of his name. 

Officers say that no one else was injured in the crash at 11.36am yesterday.

Birchwood Way was closed for around five hours.

It was closed at the roundabout near to junction 11 of the M62, with road access also stopped from Birchwood at the dog bone island at Oakwood Gate.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area with police also warning that congestion could increase around junctions 10 and 11 of the M62.

Anyone with information can call police on 101 quoting incident 341 of December 20.

I can't see anything wrong with the heading but I do really feel it for the mans family, no time is a good time to die but coming up to Christmas just seems to make it worse
