KIND hearted readers of the Warrington Guardian have done it again this year - donating hundreds of toys for children in the town.

We teamed up with BiG Storage for our Christmas Toy Appeal, donating to good causes across Warrington.

Paul Fahey, BiG Storage branch partner at the Woolston site, said: “If you are one of the many hundreds of people who have donated a toy to the appeal, please take a moment on Christmas Day to consider the joy you generosity will have brought to a child.”

Nicola Priest, editor of the Warrington Guardian, said she was delighted with the response.

She added: “We really cannot thank people enough. The generosity to get extra presents for people you will never even meet is extraordinary.”

Helen Crowther is from the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, one of the charities to benefit.

She said: “We have been absolutely bowled over by the response to this year’s toy appeal, the quantity and quality of toys donated is nothing short of phenomenal. During these difficult times it would be so easy for us all to concentrate on our own families and friends, but this just isn’t the case as hundreds of people have found it in their hearts (and pockets) to spare a thought and a present for children living with difficulties most of us couldn’t comprehend.”

The toys will also be going to the NSPCC based in Warrington, Jacobs Unique Memory Pot (J-U-M-P), Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), St Josephs Family Centre, based on Museum Street, Grangeway Court Homeless Lodge in Runcorn and St Katherines Contact Centre in Howley.
