I have always had first class service from both the post office and royal mail. My post man is a gem, Post office staff always willing to help.

Our postmen (both regular or not) have always been great. Same goes for the ones in vans who deliver parcels for all our neighbours who are rarely in so they leave them with us). Can't fault any of them to be honest. What I don't understand is WHY the post office in the golden square is opening for longer in the run up to xmas when most people probably use their local ones rather than that one.

Very rarely have a issue with the frontline posties (my dad was one for years). Its just a shame they are constantly let down by "management decisions", "organisational inefficiencies" and a dwindling market. The only Christmas benefit that I can see from the extended weekday hours would be people being able to post parcels either before or after work...BUT this is going to be people who work within easy reach of the town centre (probably working there) who would probably pop in in their lunch. It isnt going to increase the trade of the post office, just the costs.

Warrington post office uses four collection points. Unless it's really busy; then they use one.

The post office staying open for longer will only make a difference if the postal workers complete their rounds fully instead of EU rules meaning that they've got to stop half way through in busy periods like Christmas for health and safety issues. Really hope the Government don't sell it off which will increase in spiraling cost's like happened with utilities. Only privatisation what worked was telecoms, water privatisation never worked because we still can't chose our own provider so was a pointless exercise and electric and gas tells it's own story with people having to chose heat or eat as the companies ALWAYS increase costs as demand goes up in Winter which they claim to be escalating costs which only happen in Winter yet never pass the savings on when wholesale is down because they claim to buy in bulk. Please don't let the same happen to Royal Mail cause it's about the only thing left that's British. Even the Government no matter who the public vote for are controlled by Eurocrats in Brussel's who're even more out of touch with reality than our MPs

The only criticism I have with the post office is, If your looking for work you have to apply online, Not everyone has access or can use a computer..Other than that its first class, I hope they dont sell it off..

Do tell -what "EU rule is that" - can you name the actual regulation?
- and I don't mean just quoting whichever "newspaper" you read it in or what some bloke told you.

Lol, None taken, I didnt mean for myself, Even temps applying for Xmas jobs cant apply unless they do it online, Jobcentre cant help them either, However anyone on benefits can now buy stamps at last years prices if they provide proof of benefit before the offer ends at Xmas. This will be a big help to a lot of people unless your applying for a job at the post office...
On the whole I would give the post office 99 out of 100.
