COUNCILLORS will meet on Monday afternoon to discuss controversial changes to the committee system used at Warrington Town Hall.
The current watchdog scrutiny committees are set to be scrapped and replaced by policy committees in the new year.
But how many councillors sit on each remains to be agreed while members are also set to be told if deputy chairman will be paid extra allowances for the roles.
The proposal was criticised by Lib Dem leader Ian Marks earlier this year.
The new policy committees are, somewhat grandly, titled ‘protecting the most vulnerable’, ‘organisational improvement and development policy’, ‘supporting the local economy’ and ‘building stronger communities’.
The meeting starts at 2pm.
