FORMER News International chief Rebekah Brooks has been charged by police over payments to public officials.
The 44-year-old has been charged along with former Sun reporter John Kay with conspiring to pay Ministry of Defence employee Bettina Jordan-Barber around £100,000 for information.
She was previously charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice over phone hacking in May.
She will appear before Magistrates next week. Born in Warrington, the former newspaper editor, grew up in Hatton.
