Traders protested earlier this month
ROADWORKS hitting trade in the centre of Culcheth are ‘on target’ to be completed next month.
Traders say they have seen a sharp drop in sales since the work started on the bridge at Wilton Lane in October.
They say a long diversion route and a complete closure of the road is putting off potential shoppers, especially from Lowton and Golborne, from coming to the village.
This week, council bosses say the work will be finshed by December 14, ‘weather permitting’.
They have said though that a full closure will stay in place.
