THE council has launched a new investment programme aimed at bringing more business to the town called Warrington Means Business.

The scheme aims to boost economic growth and unleash the potential of the people and businesses in the area, as well as promote Warrington’s status as an economic powerhouse and attract a multitude of further investments and business developments.

It also hopes to build on the already impressive economic performance of the town compared to other areas of the UK.

In a recent economic survey, Warrington was shown to have the sixth highest earnings, to be the eighth most popular office location and to be home to around 8,000 businesses employing 115,000 people.

Warrington Means Business is committed to building on this position by driving growth not only through regeneration and development but including culture, skills development, encouraging enterprise and providing affordable homes.

It also aims to bring together all the regeneration and development master plans for the town including the Bridge Street Quarter, Bank Quay Gateway and Warrington Waterfront.

Clr Terry O’Neill, leader of the council, said: “The message is simple, come and invest in Warrington. From property development and engineering to cake making and bricklaying, whatever your business, make it our business.

“We have ambitious plans for Warrington that will touch every part of our community from redeveloping whole areas to creating more jobs and we want businesses to come and join us as we continue with this exciting chapter in the development of our town.”
