the dr who wrote:Do have to agree, you can't prosecute a dead man but you can get criminal injuries. Not for one minute do i think all of them are lying but i'm sure a few will cause how can it be investigated really? It's like the fraud guy abusing the food bank on the program on 1 on Monday who "stole" over £500 worth of food from people who really needed it. When there's money on offer it's human nature to take it for some people whether it's true or not

With regards to Jimmy saville ,I can understand younger ones being frightened of coming forward, but people who are now in their 50s have had plenty of time to come forward, and not wait til he is dead, because now justice will not seem to be done. One lady said " I didnt say anything because i didn't want my husband to find out, well now he knows.

Unless you have been the abused person, you cannot have any idea of what these people have gone through. You should remember that those aged about 40 and over were brought up at a time when sex offences were not discussed, indeed, sex wasn't a subject for discussion in the way it is now. If you claimed something had happened, you knew that you probably wouldn't be believed and girls were usually seen to be in the wrong anyway, so I can understand why many did not feel able to say anything until now. Most of us are fortunate enough not to have suffered in this way but it is wrong to suggest that victims are coming forward just for the money. This is their one opportunity to finally close an horrific episode in their lives and the focus should be on them being able to do that, not on the abusers, alive or dead.

If they want to tell someone, tell a therapist. No point going to the police.....unless they want something out of it....

a)Was JS surname "Saville" (with two LLs, as Annie wrote & from a comment from a friend of mine, it's what most of us thought it was), or Savile as now reported by
media, changing ville to VILE (same friend made that connection).
b) Silverlady has very valid comments.
c) Does anyone remember a TV documentary, post-investigation & report outcome, of the sexual abuse/paedophile ring exploitation of past inmates of Greystone Heath Approved School in Stocks Lane, Penketh? In that programme some interviewees reported that they had been approached by the media & offerred financial reward to make false disclosures, when in some incidences no abuse had occured, (i.e. the media were attempting to make the incidences much bigger than they actually were).
c) Sadly I think there are some unscrupulous people who will try to make financial gain out of the misery of others, which demeans the long term mental anguish suffered by genuine abuse victims.
d) I was an innocent, but not ignorant, teenage girl in the 1960s who remembers discussing with my peers the fact that the girl "groupies" following the Pop Stars of the time, were very willing, even boasted about, having sex with their idols - was this fact or fanciful boasts of those "groupies"? Who knows?
e) Yes, I whole heartedly agree with the "Safeguarding of Children & Vulnerable Adults" & bringing abusers to justice, whether they are alive or dead, to acknowledge the long term traum suffered by victims, who do need some psycho-therapy to help them deal with, & overcome, their violation. Sadly I am cynical enough to believe that there are also the unscupulous who will "jump on the band waggon". They are as vile as the abuser & demean the extensive psychological trauma suffered by genuine victims.

A) The Printed Media - that has been recently proven to engage in thouroughly horrible illegal practices,
B) The Police - who again have been proven to have engaged in a sickening illegal cover up
C) Celebrities - that said they were aware of "rumours" but did nothing in case it harmed their careers.
I'm glad none of you are due on Jury service.........
it remind me of David Jones the football manager who was accused of twenty one counts of abuse of young boys. He was cleared of ALL charges as the main witness admitted he MADE UP allegations for the compensation.....Jon
es said the whole horrible episode, which he maintained should never have got has far as it did was the cause of the death of his father........
maybe we would all do well to let the evidence not rumours decide what we think.
I didnt care much for Saville when He was alive I couldnt care less now he's dead. but some people really need to shake their heads and listen to what the sun are telling them to believe.
he had the keys to Broadmoor and roamed free.is one i like..
Broadmoor hospital !!! the Countrys most dangerous secure hospital/prison.....
say that over in your head and believe its true....???
I dont know who is worse in this case Saville, the press, the masses who turned blind eyes, or the public believing every wild tale and accusation, from Saville Rubbed my leg to him being a child killer....!!

as you say people blindly believing the media have given hillsbourough families a terrible time.....the shame is on those people though now the facts and truth are out.
It is this kind of hysterical reporting and media frenzy that led to the whole nation believing Liverpool fans were to blame over Hillsborough.
People believed what the Sun reported and what the police said.
the dignified families battled away for the truth and for Justice against
A) the Media (lies, Illegal practices)
B) the police (lies, cover ups, illegal practices)
ringing a bell with my earlier post....???
I'm not sure the fight for compensation was ever a main talking point. it was guilt and blame...
But the truth is out and the media and the police lied.
It should serve as a warning as to how much we get outraged by believing a story in a paper.
Even ITV have reported tonight that Jimmy Saville was a "Ripper Suspect" No he wasnt, he was interviewed in a completley botched investigation along with hundreds of other innocent Yorkshire men.... but apparantly living near a murder scene makes you quite guilty....!!
make your own mind up i dont care but dont call decent people "vile" for not believing everything the papers say

yes we now know some people knew he was dodgy, and its ridiculas he was allowed to escape, and i can accept one or two didnt want the hassel but hundreds, come people people are jumping on the band wagon knowing it cannot be proved either way,
