Lucie on song for chart spot
1:00pm Friday 2nd November 2012 in News
Lucie Evans
A TEENAGE vocalist is hoping to secure a place in the charts with her debut single.
I Hope You're Listening to the Radio by Lucie Evans, aged 19, from Templeton Drive, Fearnhead, will be released on Monday.
The first release has been long awaited for Lucie, a former Birchwood High School pupil, who has thrown her life into achieving her dream of being a singer since she completed her GCSEs.
She has already received positive feedback after reaching number eight in the club chart in September.
The chart is based on the amount of plays it receives.
Lucie said: "I will be made up to get into the charts at all. I am doing all my own promotion on Facebook and Twitter.
"I'm hoping the single does well and attracts record labels as everything will be so much easier when you have backing.
"It's really good knowing people are listening to my music.
“I have been doing a lot behind the scenes but nobody has really heard anything. It feels really good to show people something and get my music out there."
She secured her first taste of stardom three years ago after winning Internet talent competition 1Click2Fame along with a £100,000 cash prize, which she injected into her career.
"It was a big risk for me not going to college but if I had gone I wouldn't have been able to try and achieve my dream.
"It's being able to go on a stage and sing for a job that appeals. I would love go do a world tour one day."
The single is already available for order on iTunes.
Lucie, who lives with her parents Lorraine and Rob and younger sisters, Leah, aged 16, and Mollie, aged 13, will be performing at Liverpool ONE's All That Sparkles event on Wednesday between 3pm and 8pm.
Lucie is also hoping to up her profile via MTV Brand New Unsigned For 2013 competition.
Voting for the competition ends on November 12.
