Talking bins come to town

Talking bins come to town Talking bins come to town

IF you hear the voice of Amanda Holden or X Factor voiceover man Peter Dickinson when you dump your rubbish you must be doing it right.

For over the next four weeks Warrington will be home to four talking bins which deliver messages from famous faces every time you feed the bin.

The talking bins are part of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign, which Warrington is an ambassador.

Clr David Keane, executive board member for environment and public protection, said: “We’re delighted to be an ambassador of the Love Where You Live campaign and hope these talking bins will really get the people of Warrington thinking twice before dropping litter on the floor.

“We need the support of the whole community to help clean up our streets.”

The bins will be in town from Monday.

I hope that as "ambassadors" Warrington is getting these bins for free. After all, we wouldn't want them wasting any more money and something which other towns have shown to be a short-term gimmick that doesn't really work long-term.

The bins will be talking to themselves, Just like the electorate of this town when trying to talk to the council. Somewhere in the town hall is an office door with a sign on it saying ( department for stupid dea,s and wasting council tax payers money ) This council needs to wake up and start doing what they were elected to do...

I know Amanda Holden is annoying but calling her a talking bin is a bit much guardian.

Talking bins eh? So we get told well done for doing the right thing while the ****heads carry on dropping it on the ground.

Let us know when you have a bin that lasso's litter droppers and suspends them by the ankles for 12 hours - that would be newsworthy.
