Parents jailed after admitting child abuse Parents jailed after admitting child abuse

TWO parents who admitted abusing their two premature born baby twins have been jailed at Chester Crown Court.

A 21-year-old woman, from Dallam, was jailed for three years and a 28-year-old, from Bewsey, was jailed for two years during the hearing on Friday after admitting charges of child cruelty.

Neither can be named for legal reasons.

She admitted squeezing one of the twin boys so hard that she broke his rib while the man admitted to throwing the twins around their house.

She also admitted failing to take the pair to hospital.

One of the boys has been left with a serious eye condition which continues to need treatment.

It was her first children while the father has two other children. The twins were aged around four months when the abuse took place.

DC Deborah Carter, from Cheshire Police, said: “This case has had a huge impact on all those involved.

“The two young children sustained a catalogue of injuries and will have to live with the effects of those injuries for the rest of their lives.

“One of the children in particular suffered serious injuries that are still requiring treatment. No child should have to endure this type of treatment, certainly not at the hands of their parents.

“This has been a detailed and protracted investigation involving a number of agencies managed through the public protection unit at Warrington. It was a challenging and complex case which required high levels of commitment from all professionals involved.”

I cannot believe a two year sentence (out after one!) for such a vile crime.

I hope the twins have been placed with loving a family and their parents never see them again!!

5 years between them? Should have been at least 5 years EACH. The lad from Latchford got two years for a facebook update about riots. Good to see the criminal justice system in the UK is completely balanced.
