Changes to ease car parking woes at hospital

CHANGES are set to be made to car parking at Warrington Hospital from Monday after complaints from patients and visitors who have been struggling to find a space.

The main car park on Lovely Lane at the front of the hospital will be strictly for patient and visitor use freeing up 70 spaces a day currently being used by staff.

Short stay spaces have also been created directly outside the A&E department allowing relatives to drop off patients in an emergency.

Staff have been issued new permits strictly for staff parking areas rented on land off site.

Clearer signposting will also be in place for all parking areas and a penalty system if cars are in the wrong area or do not have pay and display tickets or staff permits on show.
