Travellers on Silver Lane, Risley will be evicted again

UPDATE: Returning Risley travellers set to be evicted again UPDATE: Returning Risley travellers set to be evicted again

THE council has confirmed travellers on Silver Lane, Risley, are set to be evicted again.

The group returned to the site they were ordered to leave five months ago in the last week with nearby residents claiming the situation was ‘worse than it has ever been before’.

But a court order secured by Warrington Borough Council yesterday, Wednesday, means the travellers will be forced to leave the land in the next couple of days.

A council spokesman said: ‘We are working in conjunction with partners including Cheshire Police to resolve this situation as quickly as possible.

“We obtained the necessary direction from the court yesterday and will be in the process of evicting the travellers during the next couple of days.

“Our clean up crews are on standby ready for when the travellers have moved on.”

No doubt, these "travellers" will be moving onto Woolston Grange again, as soon as WBC move them from Risley. It will be the fifth time this year they have
encamped on the Grange and each time, as a business owner, me and my neighbours are left to clean up the mess and the cost of baliffs. It would not be so bad if they left sites clean and tidy. But it is disgraceful the amount of mess and waste they leave behind

i got a feeling they will show up near the saxon park estate on the gravel area near the railway crossing behind the coach and horses pub. there are some ex travellers in the area and something was kicking off the other night a few caravans had police down

More cost to the council tax payer, A perminant solution needs to be found, Maybe a perminant injunction, If one exists..

The police just need to stay on there case , by using stop n search tactics and proceeds of crime to take goods n cash they can not prove ownership for. When they visited an empty site some years ago (laportes club) I visited on my bike and left them with a nice sprinkling of roofing tacks a day or so and they had gone . Not sure if my contribution helped but I got a little satisfaction when they where jacking up there vehicles and vans .

We all have goods we "can not prove ownership of" - if they are to done for theft it is for the police to prove beyond reasonable doubt , not for an individual to prove legitimte ownership.

fair enough ! But large amounts of cash has to be accounted for, so the police could take that of em .

If the Police have grounds to think there's something wrong with something they can seize it until they can prove ownership or if after 6 months nobody has came forward saying it's their they can have it back. If they do prove ownership and it's an object that is outside from the standard of living they claim to have HMRC will get involved and very likely slap them with a large tax bill. HMRC have more powers than the Police in some areas, in America Al Capone was brought down with tax bills, he never got convicted of any major criminal offence you'd expect of a violent gangster it was all tax evasion

the travellers in question are now on woolston grange next to my work. they were trying the locks on a car in the carpark and when the owner moved his car to a safer place in front of the factory, the man got one of the younger travellers to take a sh*t on the doorstep of our workplace. this was at 3pm today. is this normal human behaviour??”
